Harare

The centre of Zimbabwe commerce, Harare is home to the National Gallery of Zimbabwe with excellent collections of African Art and Shona stone sculptures. The Harare Gardens are the largest in the city and have a very pleasant music bandstand at weekends. It even holds a miniature model of Victoria Falls and the Zambezi Gorges.

Harare is a haven of modern shops, hotels and high-rise offices accentuated by spacious boulevards and manicured parks, but the real charm of the city is its relaxed atmosphere. If you're looking to pick up some souvenirs or crafts then take a visit to Mbare Art & Craft Centre, and Shona stone sculptures are available in galleries all around the city.

Lake Chivero is a great spot to enjoy sailing, water skiing and just relaxing in general. Harare also has championship golf courses and horse racing amongst many other leisure facilities.
