Gaborone

The capital of Botswana, Gaborone, was named after Chief Gaborone and has all the amenities you would expect from a modern and vibrant capital city.  And the home of Alexander McCall-Smith's 'Number One Ladies Detective Agency'.

Located in the south-eastern corner of Botswana, Gaborone is a great starting point for a trip to the Mokolodi Nature Reserve for an education on preservation and the environment.

Flights to Gaborone

In Gaborone itself there is a range of hotels and restaurants. A choice of cinemas, casinos and nightclubs are on offer for evening entertainment. The National Museum is situated near the centre of town and is a great opportunity to see important collections of traditional crafts and southern African fine art. To purchase your own souvenirs there are many busy shopping malls in the area and the best crafts to buy are woven handicrafts and handmade wooden furniture.

The National Sports Stadium along with the Gaborone Golf Club, Cricket Club, Rugby Club, and the Botswana Tennis Association Courts are only 2 km from the centre of Gaborone.

The St.Claire Lion Park is only 14km from Gaborone and is a great day trip from the city to experience the woodland area for a picnic. There are also horse trails, motorbike rides, game viewing and camping grounds.
